Terminale Mathematics — Literature and Humanities (LH)

Terminale Mathematics — Literature and Humanities (LH)

Eight lessons covering descriptive position and dispersion measures, selected rational-function methods, and conditional probability with independence. Scenarios use fictional adult-reader and cultural-event data. This is a bounded written self-paced course, using the 2025–26 CRDP reference year. Official 2026–27 alignment has not been verified. It does not replace the complete school programme or establish official examination readiness.

Who this is for

  • English-reading Terminale LH learners revising the stated scope
  • Independent learners willing to attempt questions before opening keys

Before you begin

  • Arithmetic with fractions, decimals and percentages
  • Reading ordered lists, simple tables and coordinates
  • Solving linear equations and factoring simple quadratics
  • Paper and an optional calculator for square roots

Outcomes

  • Build and interpret frequency summaries and weighted means
  • Choose mean, median or mode with reasons
  • Calculate range, mean absolute deviation, variance and standard deviation
  • Analyse simple rational functions and solve rational equations/inequalities
  • Read two-way tables using the correct conditional denominator
  • Distinguish independent events from incompatible events

Included

  • Written lessons with original worked examples
  • Practice and explained answer keys
  • Topic checks and an original capstone
  • 12-question practice quiz
  • Compact revision/reference pack

Scope boundaries

  • Remaining annual-school unit: the dedicated graphical-interpretation chapter, including broad continuity, tangent and graphical-comparison tasks; only selected function-reading ideas appear here
  • Not developed fully here: general polynomial/rational studies with parameters, unequal-width grouped-data modal analysis and all graphical statistics methods
  • Inferential statistics, causal conclusions and predictions about real people
  • Complete official programme or past-paper collection
  • Video, live coaching, official grading, certification or accreditation

Course outline

  1. Where is the centre?
    • Data, frequencies and weighted means
    • Median, mode and grouped classes
  2. How dispersed are the values?
    • Range and mean absolute deviation
    • Variance and standard deviation
  3. Rational-function reasoning
    • Rational functions and asymptotes
    • Rational equations, inequalities and variation
  4. Conditional evidence
    • Conditional probability from two-way tables
    • Independence, incompatibility and clear conclusions

The revision pack is a compact companion. Read the full explanations, complete the practice, and then use the pack for retrieval practice. All datasets and scenarios are invented for learning.
