TOEFL Writing: Sentences, Emails, and Academic Discussion
Practise sentence structure, purposeful emails, and supported discussion responses. Includes ten sentence-building items, two extended prompts, model responses, and an independent revision guide.
Welcome
This course helps you write accurate sentences and clear responses for a specific reader and purpose. It covers Build a Sentence, Write an Email, and Write for an Academic Discussion.
How to use the course
Begin with sentence structure, then practise the two extended-response formats. Complete the final practice before studying the models. Keep both your first attempt and your revision so you can see which changes improved the writing.
You can use a plain document or notebook. Written practice responses are not submitted or graded by this course: there is no automatic essay scorer or writing-response submission tool. Model responses demonstrate one effective approach; they are not scripts to memorize.
Native knowledge checks
The 12-question native Lesson Knowledge Checks quiz collects and grades multiple-choice answers about the taught concepts. It does not grade essays, emails, sentence-building responses, or discussion writing. Complete the lessons, then submit the knowledge-check quiz in the curriculum. Written production remains ungraded self-study or manual review. The quiz percentage is course-practice accuracy, not an official TOEFL writing score.
Course feedback
Sentence keys explain the grammar. The extended-response checklist describes strengths and revision needs in ordinary language. It is independently developed for this course and cannot predict an official TOEFL result. All scenarios, names, and responses in the exercises are fictional teaching examples.
